Formed in 2000 to encourage interest in local history it offers the 35 members a lively programme of talks, events, outings and projects

Meetings:  
  • Venue: St Chad’s Church - generally the 2nd Tuesday of each month
  • Time: 2.30pm in winter; 7.30pm in summer to include villagers who can’t attend the afternoon meetings
  • Talks by interesting speakers on a wide range of historical subjects
  • Outings are arranged in the summer months.
  • Membership Subscription: £10 per annum

Projects have included:
  • A Guide to St Chad’s Church
  • Design and sale of Christmas cards and notelets featuring photos of the village.
  • Calendars illustrated with old photographs of villagers and local scenes
